Museo del Violino.
The Museo del Violino is hosted in Cremona in Palazzo dell’Arte. After being used for military purposes in the last months of the war, the building hosted exhibitions, musical evenings and charity events until the 1960s. It is interesting to note that between May and July 1949 part of the celebrations marking the 300th anniversary of the birth of Stradivarius were held here. Only a few years later, on 30th April 1957, part of the building was assigned to the Violinmaking School where whole generations of craftsmen were trained until 2010.
Auditorium with reserved violin audition.
The culture of excellence, which from its early steps has guided the realization of the Museo del Violino is perfectly synthesized in the Giovanni Arvedi Auditorium. The Auditorium, one of a kind and outstanding result of a daring and modern project, was coordinated by the architects Giorgio Palù and Michele Bianchi with the support of the acoustical engineer Yasuhisa Toyota for the optimization of the acoustics, and reaffirms and exalts Cremona’s role at an international level as the capital of violinmaking and music.
The social dinner will be at “Chiave di Bacco” Restaurant which is located in the same building of the Museum. Tradition, innovation, creativity. These are the ingredients of the cuisine. Close to the territory and its history, it offers a contemporary and personal interpretation of the best Cremonese gastronomic tradition.
NB: Guided tour and group dinner can be booked separately.
